In modern age those 5% people are the podcasts you listen to, people you follow on social media. Physical group do not comes up here's why...

Firstly due to pandemic our connections with people is now lost (Meeting Physically). We now connect virtually via mobile or so called smartphones

If we look closely most of our time is spent on mobile and who you see, what you see and what you hear on the daily basis on that tiny screen matters a lot.

We are sum of what we expose to each day so a person who loves cooking most likely follows cooking YouTube channels, insta pages. He will not be following tech channels (unless he is having interest)

Internet has broaden the possibilities of making virtual friends, mentors. I am not talking about facebook friends or other social media friends. It's about famous successful people who I want to be as, who can solve my problems even if some of them are dead

Like when I feel anxiety, suffering, depression I listen to Naval Ravikant, Tony Robbins who is my virtual friend (They don't know me though).

Similarly in order to learn life's principles Jocko Willink, Jordan Peterson are my senior buddies. For learning persuasion Dr. Robert Cialdini, Chris Ross are my close friends on Youtube.

For life, habits, motivation, time management, finance Jim Rohn is my Most Senior Friend along with James Clear. For wealth again Naval Ravikant.

I can include authors as well yet right now we are just looking at virtual online friends not physical offline books.

On linkedin as well there are many connections who I don't know yet since they are CEOs, Founders, Top people in industry I get some idea about their thinking from their posts

So in short I have Naval Ravikant as my best friend, Tony Robbins, Jocko Willink, Jordan Peterson, Dr. Robert Cialdini, Chris Ross, Sir Jim Rohn, James Clear as my other friends. (None of them know me currently)

These are my 5% people who I listen to, surround with (through podcasts, videos, books) each day.

Now if I would have surrounded myself around other people then my life, thinking, knowledge would have been different

The Point is surround yourself with people who align with your dreams. If you want to become a top marketer then follow, listen, watch the top people in that industry.

By just doing listening you may not just become like them as actions is needed as well yet you will definitely get the mindset like them.

So have a 5 minute look at your social media apps and ask yourself if the people you follow are worth following.
